oceans (where feet may fail)……..

Jeremiah chapter 1…. Jeremiah is always known as the weeping prophet, but today I learnt that he is also known as the “persevering prophet”. Living in an extremely difficult time, he devoted his life to working for God. As faithful as he was, he apparently had only 2 converts Baruch his scribe, and ebedmelech, an ethiopian eunuch. The people he preached to would eventually repent, but he did not live to see it. Lord please grant me perseverance and strength and stamina in this christian journey, that is a prayer I have been saying today for myself, and anyone reading this.

Hillsong has this song, Spirit lead me where my trust is without borders, let me walk upon the waters wherever You would call me, Take me deeper than my feet could ever wander, and my faith will be made stronger in the presence of my Savior. (here’s the song with lyrics below).
I pray we may learn a thing or two from Jeremiah’s story so that our own story will bless others. Let’s continue to STAND OUT!
Please feel free to leave a comment below as always. God bless you..

The River………. song of the week.

Hey everyone! how’s your week going? it has been a lil while. I figured being the avid lover of music that I am, I should start doing some sort of song of the week. This way, I can share my love of christian music with you and I can also learn new ones from you. This week, it’s a song from one of my favorite artists. Meredith Andrews’ song “The River” speaks to me in ways I cannot express. So enjoy! Lyrics at the bottom of the song for your meditation.

everyone is broken and in need of a savior
so He came and was broken for the mocker,
for the shamed
still our eyes are blinded by the culture,
by the lies
we cant see that were filthy, we’re fallen
and so dry

but He invites us
can you hear Him say
He invites us
hear Him call your name

welcome to the river
come drink come wade come find your very life
welcome to the river of God
where your brokeness is washed away

everywhere is the sorrow
and the pain of empty living
you can see it, look in their eyes
all the hopelessness of the world
but look closer He is right there
in the midst of every fear

living water is the offer
restoration is the call
and He invites us
can you hear Him say
He invites us
hear Him call your name

welcome to the river
come drink come wade come find your very life
welcome to the river of God
where your brokeness is washed

welcome to this river
come drink come wade come find your very life
welcome to the river of God
where your brokeness is washed away

find your healing
find your freedom
in the river of God

find your healing
find your freedom
in the river of God

your healing here
your freedom here
in the river of God

your healing here
your freedom here
in the river of God

welcome to the river
come drink come wade come find your very life
welcome to the river of God
where your brokeness is washed away

..washed away

everyone is broken and in need of a savior…

The sweetest thing I read today…

It’s such a nice day whenever the Lord speaks to me. Have you realized that if you are quiet enough to listen you can hear GOD speak through dreams, people, situations? Today I just finished reading a book I have been reading for quite a while now and I definitely recommend. “BATTLEFIELD OF THE MIND” by Joyce Meyer. Awesome read! So rich!

Here’s the sweetest thing I read from that book today…

The whole purpose of man’s creation is that he reverence and worship God by obeying Him. All godly character must be rooted in obedience- it is the foundation of all happiness. No one can ever be truly happy without being obedient to God. Anything in our lives that is out of order will be brought into adjustment by obedience. Obedience is the whole duty of man…- Joyce Meyer.

So amazing right? May the Lord guide us as we strive to obey Him.

“For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.” – Romans 5:19

Thank Jesus that He obeyed God and was sacrificed that me and you can be made righteous!

What great books are you reading this summer? Please share with me.. God bless you and please share your thoughts on obedience. i would love to read them..

You can come as you are…..

It’s been so long… I visit my blog from time to time and words burn inside of my heart but I can’t bring myself to write it all. I remember how much healing reading and writing has brought me. it’s healing i can’t fully describe.Today I read this from a sister in Christ: “I can’t begin to tell you how many times I’ve had to start over with God. His grace is amazing”. It describes exactly how I am feeling about my spiritual journey. This journey of ups and downs can be very challenging and we can’t run it alone. That’s why I decided to blog in the first place. to talk about my spiritual journey and get feedback from other people running this tough race. There is a song singing inside my heart. It is a song reminding me I can always go to the Father. I can come as I am. Mistakes, and all. His arms are open wide… how are things going? it’s been so long I will love to hear from you all about life in Christ. I guess I can say I’m back… haha! oh! enjoy the song below..

A Letter To My Dad..

Okay I know what you are thinking… Father’s Day is long gone. I’m actually mad at myself that this is long overdue. To the greatest Father of all mankind, Where would we all be without your love? To all the fathers who subscribe to and read this blog, here’s to say happy father’s day! To the spiritual fathers and mentors, you do not get enough credit for the work you do behind the scenes, so this is to say that you make life so much better and easier and to my wonderful earthly father, this one is for you..

Dear Dad,

These days everyone says I have so many things in common with you. Is it any wonder? after all I am named after you. Every day is a father’s day for me because you are always in my thoughts. Distance may have kept us apart for so long, but I promise you my heart is always closest to you. If I marry a man who loves me as much as you do, then I would be one lucky lady! I am thankful for your heart of sacrifice and kindness towards others, but  especially for your devotion towards God. I don’t have to wonder how much God loves me, because you show me a little bit of that everyday!

NOT A FAN..

Would i be repetitive if I say a Happy month of June again? WIth all the disasters going on in the world, like the recent plane crash in Nigeria that led to the loss of 132 lives, I think we ought to be happy when we can. As a follow-up to my post “PICK A TEAM”, I watched a show the other day on the TBN christian network called “not a fan” and I was richly blessed. Since their message is as powerful as the one this blog stands for, I am delighted to share…

“fan: an enthusiastic admirer. In the Gospels, Jesus never seemed too interested in fans.
Is that how you define your relationship with Him? An “enthusiastic admirer”? Close enough to Jesus to get the benefits but not so close to require sacrifice?
He was looking for followers. Not just any follower though, but a…

completely. committed. follower.

How would things change if you lived as Jesus lived, and loved the way He loved?
Maybe you’re ready to join the hundreds of people who have stepped across a line and said:

i am not a fan.”

I took this message from their website and saw that they had a book coming out also. Needless to say if the Lord wills, I will definitely be buying it. you can visit their website at www.notafan.com  I am all about sharing anything I believe can help me and other believers in our spiritual journey so I hope this website blesses you.

Please feel free to share any websites or wonderful stories and information that you feel might bless others as well. As always, it’s a pleasure! Follow my blog and let’s STAND OUT!

PICK A TEAM!!

Image
You must forgive me please, May was quite a busy month, but I am excited about this new month of June. I can’t believe it’s already  half of the year!! May God continue to keep us in Jesus’ name.   I had such a great time studying the book of 2 kings last month but I feel like I’ll leave that for another time.   I must confess that it is joy and struggle living  for God .  Does anyone else agree or am I completely alone in saying this??  Oh come on! I am sure I am not alone here….

Let me show you a lil something from 1 Kings 18:21 “And Elijah  came to all the people, and said, “How long will you falter between two opinions? If the Lord is God, follow Him; but if Baal, follow him.” But thepeople answered him not a word.   That’s something isn’t it? Living for God means totally saying no to the other team. That means we can’t be believers and continue to live in compromise over so many issues clearly spelled out in the Word.
As easy as it may sound, picking a team isn’t quite easy. Well  I am sure that goes without saying. I can without a doubt say that it really involves dying completely to flesh and denying oneself of anything that is a point for the other team. Thank God for His grace! Though we falter, as long as we clearly state our team and stick to it, He shall surely help us. At the risk of sounding like a sports person here, lol! I personally think that every person will like to belong to the winning team! who wouldnt?
The fact that it says the people never answered a word in 1 Kings 18 :21 just goes to confirm that most times some people are undecided and never want to pick a team and love to stay in between. WHile we still have time, I pray that God will help us pick the winning team!

Why am I starting to feel like this sounded like a preaching? I really would love to hear your contributions and let me know that I am not alone feeling the pressures of staying on the winning team!  As always please follow my blog so we can keep sharing various ways to stand out in this christian race.
Thankyou for stopping by..♥
