10 Reasons Why I Love My Mom!

Try to ask a person in love what they love about their significant other, and u just might not get one clear answer. Sometimes it’s just so many things they love about the other person, that narrowing them down into a few reasons, seems quite tough! That’s the way I am feeling right now… How can I narrow it down to just ten? But I have to, not to take up so much space. Here’s to hoping whatever doesn’t make it here on paper, I’ll live my entire life showing it much more than saying  it……

To you mom………..

  • I love how you love me, and take me for who I am, imperfect me.
  • I love how you love God, live for Him and how it infects everybody else around you.
  • Your smile, I love your smile and how you can always manage to keep it together even in tough situations.
  • I love your heart of sacrifice, your ability to put everyone else way before yourself…
  • Your generous big heart, kind and affectionate, I love it!
  • I love how humble you are, that no matter how much you are lifted up, you never let pride show its ugly head…
  • I love you for always being protective over those you love …
  • Your support.. I love that no matter what I can always count on you..
  • I love how you are such an outstanding, exemplary woman full of integrity, that I can always look up to.
  • The tenth already? this went by fast….  you know what I love the most? Your ability to be mom, sister, best friend all in one and how easily you transform yourself into all these roles… I Love You Just For Being You..

When You Are Persistent…

May is proving to be quite a busy month for me. How are you finding the month of may?  I just started reading the book of 2 Kings and chapter 2 is already getting me all excited! Elisha‘s story makes me remember the story of Ruth and Naomi. Elisha and Ruth had something in common, they were both very persistent. While Ruth followed Naomi, Elisha followed Elijah and because of their faithfulness and persistence, they were greatly rewarded.

I always admire people who have the ability to follow through every task till the end. When it comes to our spiritual lives, I am certain that is what is going to take us till the end. The Christian journey is a lifelong race, and just like any race, it has it’s fair share of huddles, bumps in the road, tiredness, times when we feel great and on top. Our level of persistence for sure will determine whether we make it to that finish line!

Funnily enough, that’s one trait that will help us even in our day-to-day lives. The most successful people are those who have great persistence. Elisha got a double portion of the Spirit of Elijah just because he waited till the end. Sometimes when we are in such a hurry, we miss out on the best gifts! Periods of waiting are never the best periods but they are surprisingly the time when God builds our character and we learn a lot about ourselves and God. Things we might never have learnt in a hurry. William Feather said that “Success seems to be largely a matter of hanging on after others have let go. ” I pray for me and for you, that God will give us that unique gift of Persistence.

As always, I would love to read your comments.

More than enough for me!

My Notes from Joel Osteen’s Night Of Hope….

I love Joel Osteen. Many people say he only paints half the picture, because of his very positive messages. While it’s true that he can be extremely positive, in a world surrounded with so much negativity, I believe we could all use some positivity. I was in need of some positive inspiration, so my mum, her two prayer partners and I headed to D.C., and amidst the traffic, narrow roads and feisty drivers, we finally made it to the Nationals Park.

Now I believe the first few minutes of my time there, I hardly wrote anything down, because I was star struck! Seeing Joel Osteen and his beautiful wife up close, and the amazing choir, I could barely believe my eyes. My mum and I must have pinched each other a couple of times .lol! As you can probably tell, my future in photography might be a stretch, but I took a few pictures I am gladly pasting around this post!

Now onto those notes….. In order not to bore you to sleep, I picked out a few which stood out to me.

  • God‘s destiny for your life will come to pass, and nothing you have done or will do will stop that from happening, because you are not powerful enough to stop God’s plan!
  • Nothing in your life happens by chance! Everything that happens to you, the people you meet, everything is strategically orchestrated by God to lead you into your divine destiny!
  • You may want to stay away from friends who can pull you away from your walk with God, and delay your destiny!
  • if somebody doesn’t like you, don’t take it personally, it doesn’t necessarily mean they are bad, it just means they might not be a part of your destiny, so stop forcing people to like you or be a part of your life. If you can move forward in faith, you will meet the people who will love you and celebrate you!
  • The enemy doesn’t fight you for where you are, but for where you are going to stop your divine destiny!
  • This one i love, God already has all your destiny moments lined up! He loves you!

Now if you can declare these positive statements to yourself, it will work wonders… on your mind, if you let it.  To get the full message, you might want to check TBN to see when they reair the programme in your area. Do these points make you excited about your destiny and what is to come? Please share with me…, Also please share with me some of your best positive declarations you love to repeat to yourself . Mine is from Eph 3:20. He is able to do immeasurably more than all I ask or imagine..!

Thankyou again for the time you take to read. God bless you! Have a lovely new month of May!

You’ve been walking with me all this time…….

I have been thinking a lot about turning older , and not happy thoughts. Sometimes, I can be my own worst critic. Then I woke up this morning, and thought Lord I apologise. I am thinking about all the wrong things. “I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” – Psalm 139:14

Then I thought about every trial, every challenge, every setback and how He has never left my side, Then I thought about all the blessings and how I spend very little time counting my blessings… He’s been right there every step of the way, He’s been walking with me all this time! And He put a new song in my mouth, as only He can do, and of course I share it with you right here. (you can listen to it below). Britt Nicole put it right He’s been there all along and HE always will for you reading this too!

Thankyou for stopping by my blog once again! Don’t forget to click follow on your way out ! God bless you!

Sometimes He calms the Storm

Even in your darkest moment, know that God is very close. He may not always react when we want Him to, but He’s still in control. I love this song. Hope it blesses you too.

There is incredible power behind some quiet time. For the working mom and dad, it is a time when they can catch a breath, for the students, it is a time when they can forget about books, deadlines and relax, and for the christian believer it is a time when they can hear and receive from God. Everyone needs some Quiet Time. We get so busy in the service of God’s people , but it is important for us to remember that “doing things for God does not replace spending time with Him.” -Joyce Meyer.

I love a quality quiet time in the morning. My mama always said how you start your day will determine the outcome of your day. However, who said it has to be in the morning? There’s no rules, but morning sure has its advantages. It sets the tone for the day. i always say I am not a girl who is into all the how to’s and all because i believe it sometimes takes out the spontaneity and excitement of life, but here’s a few tips that might help spice up your Quiet Time with God.

Select a time that’s best suited for you.   After all, it’s your quiet time so why not give it your full attention? No need to rush, remember it’s time with the most important person in your life. Now need i remind you He is your creator after all? Now i’m not saying you must be very long either. That doesnt have to be your only time with God since he is omniscient .

Venue , Venue.  Now that’s key! There’s a reason it’s called quiet, free from noise. It doesn’t have to be anyplace fancy but if you can be by the beach, hey don’t let me stop you.( i wanna be like you, lol!)

Be Prepared.  You may want to bring your Bible, notebook and pen with you and any other thing you might need. Hey it’s your time, bring what you want! ( christian). I bring my music with me!

No Proper Procedure.  Spend time reading God’s word, meditating, Worshipping , but in no proper order. Feel free to worship how u want. sitting, standing, kneeling, as the Spirit leads. Don’t be monotonous or boring.

Personalize your Quiet Time.    Nowadays, many people use devotionals and other stuff during their Quiet Time, which I do incorporate in mine sometimes, i must say. But it’s important to take some time and reflect on how these stories and Bible readings affect you. How can they be applied into your life? One lil thing I will like to add, never let devotionals, christian literature replace your Bible reading. There is nothing as powerful as the word of God. Heaven and earth will pass away His word will remain.

Record.  Now i wanted to say write, but i have a friend who records her Quiet Times on tapes. Amazing right? Once i listened to one of them and was blown away. She will speak about what the Lord put in her heart and everything. Talk about a unique experience!

A two way Street.  Incorporating prayer into our Quiet Time is key! We must however, be silent enough to hear God speak to us through our Bible readings, and sometimes in the still soft whisperings of the Holy Spirit.

Share! When our parents taught us sharing, I’m sure they forgot to tell us it never stops! lol! I think it is important to share what we learn in our quiet time. we can’t be reservoirs. In sharing with others, we learn from them too!
You are never too busy for Quiet Time with God.   Closet communion needs time for the revelation of God’s presence. It is vain to say, “I have too much work to do to find time.” You must find time or forfeit blessing. God knows how to save for you the time you sacredly keep for communion with Him. -A.T. Pierson

Now in the Spirit of sharing will you kindly share the personal twists you give to your own quiet time? I would love to steal some ideas, i”m sure some of the readers would love it too!

Once again, God Bless You and if you are reading this, I am quite flattered! To God be the Glory!
